Meet our Executive Director – Sonya Smith
Sonya Smith returns to her hometown of Antioch as Executive Director of TreVista Senior Living and Memory Care. Prior to taking the Executive Director role, she directed Astoria Senior Living and Memory Care in Oakdale, CA. Both communities are owned by Agemark Senior Living. Sonya oversees more than 80 employees at TreVista, including caregivers, dining services, wellness staff and activity leaders.
Sonya has spent her career working with seniors, starting with a role at a pain management private practice in Walnut Creek, before becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse and working at an assisted living residence for the first time.
“I just fell in love with working with seniors. I love supporting them daily, making sure they are happy and ensuring they have a wonderful quality of life,” says Smith. “Our company believes in family-first and here at TreVista, we are committed to treating residents, their families and our employees as family.”
Sonya has two children including a son, who is a Marine, and a daughter in high school. A proud Army-brat and supporter of the U.S. military and local veterans, Sonya enjoys participating in Antioch community events and loves to run in her spare time.
